Will You Keep Our Secret Mr Moon
A letter to the Moon

Mr. Moon, I look at you,
And see you looking back at me,
I know you must have seen a thing or two,
But will you keep our secret?
ππππ
From my window, I peer out,
And see you sometimes smile.
πππ
Do you ever wonder what it's all about?
Or do you really not want to know?
πππ
I bet you have some tales to tell,
About the things youβve seen.
πππ
Letβs not forget their personal,
So, I need you not to tell.
πππ
Maybe I should shut the blind,
But whereβs the fun in that?
πππ
If people look and really mind,
Is that because you let them see?
πππ
Mr. Moon I look at you.
And see you looking back at me.
I know you must have seen a thing or two,
But will you keep our secret?
ππππ
[Authorβs note: This is the second poem I have written that I describe as a βsandwich poem.β The format for this type of poem is that the first and the last stanzas are quatrains and are the same with the same rhyme ABAC (i.e. like two pieces of bread). In between are couplets of any format you like or any number of stanzas you like, as if you were making a sandwich. In mine, there are six couples, each representing one of six possible ingredients. The first line of each pair of couplets rhymes with the first line of the next, i.e. (AB AC), (DE DF), (GH GI)].
Till next time,
Calvin

I enjoy reading new formats! Thank you! I did attempt a sandwich poem the last time you wrote one. Good one for the challenge!ππ

Hahaha - what secret? π€ Maybe a follow up that reveals the secret with the moonβ¦donβt keep us in suspense LOL. π Calvin I think you meant βtheyβreβ not their. π
I really enjoyed this one. Itβs playful and imaginative, but thereβs also a lovely intimacy in how you speak to the moon like an old friend. π
