Wild Woman

Forever Free

By Valentine VampirePublished 3 years ago 2 min read

Take a look in my bag of tricks

Lipsticks and lighters, A pack of Newports, red please.

Fresh peaches on the porch

Humid air that makes skin stick to hair

Dewy pearls of sweat licked between lips

Sweet cream

Sell my pain to wandering travelers, only about 6 or 7

But because of me, they have tasted heaven.

A new road, a new town, a new suitor to show me around.

For an hour or two

Who was it last night?

I couldn't tell you who.

They'll hold me soft

They'll hold me hard

Like a beautiful bard

I sing to them in ardent hellos and tender farewells.

These haughty eyes only god can condemn to hell

Pick me up at 8 or 9

Baby, I'll be yours and you mine.

Spread out like rose petals on the bedroom floor.

Anticipation in the form of a locked door

My body is an island waiting for him to explore

Take a bite of the forbidden fruit

Don't look back, keep your eyes on the shore.

intertwined at the sin inn.

Lost in the tides. Crashed together like waves

Secrets worn like beads in the sand

Pick each one out to fit the embellishments on my silk garment

He ignites me from within, like a fiery burst of embers on top of the snow that is his mane.

Egyptian Cotton tells a story of those before me who have been forgotten

The motel tv that hangs in the corner and plays my favorite songs

Bat my bedroom eyes

Snow stained under my nose

We dance the night away to REO Speedwagon

That's how it goes

Mama wonders what town I've made mine for the night.

Daddy keeps the bottle in his hand.

Little sister models and flaunts my clothes in the mirror.

And puts on her show.

My name they seem to not remember, not that I would want them to.

Daddy wants me home.

Mama hopes I never show.

I’m in Texas, or maybe Maine?

Somewhere where it never rains

I’ve seen Washington and got lost in the trees

Laid under the Florida breeze and never felt so at ease

Even spent some time in Los Angeles to see if they could handle this

I belong to no one

Yet belong to everyone

I vaguely remember our one chance encounter

but I love them all the same

The Harley with the kid rock tattoo.

The teacher who just got out of school.

The copper headed lass with the secret so cruel.

A man with the wife and kids looking for a quick screw.

They give me their love, they give me their hate.

Rubies, jewels, and their entire estate.

One after the other, my 2 am lover.

Darling, does it get old?

Passion and pain,Spreads through my veins.

Like roads on a map or wind through a sail

I’ll navigate for as long as the sea will let this broken ship steer

For the future, I will not veer.

So if you choose to love a woman like me,

A woman of the open road

A lady born from the sea

A scholar of the stars

She will forever be free

Belonging to everyone

Yet bound by no woman or man's chains.

Wild I am! Yes!

A wild woman!
