Yellow Hyacinth

Why not me?

By Valentine VampirePublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Will you plant me in your garden?

Or do I die?

Because I’m just a lonely girl who has made you my whole world

These tears fall like pedals in honey

Command your ocean of stars, and I shine the least

I burn yellow.

They burn blue.

Why not me?

She is really quite the sight

Her rosy cheeks. Soft enough to make someone like me weak

I know that you’re weak.

Strawberries for hair and lavender that graces the air

As she dances into the night, her skin, embellished with moonlight

Warm like milk, sweet and ready to eat

A perfect parhelion

She steals you away from me again

Drop a dagger into my garnet heart

I’ll color it teal if it means I’ll get to steal you back to me

I can't win, but for you

I’ll run any race.

Drape me in the finest lace.

Change my visage.

Imagine me in your vision of her.

He doesn't remember what we did last night.

He has you on his mind

Black mane and emerald eyes

I can smell her scent and lies

Icy corneas filled with her cries

And you are lost inside her thighs.

Brittle bones that crumble into a cave

And roll back to you like a wave

What caused you to drift so far from home?

To make me sleep in our sheets in solus?

While you nurture her garden.

My vine dies.

Sugar never spoils

But flowers do.

Put yellow hyacinths on my grave.

I know you don't know me

But you know who I am

You taste like gold

And I taste like silver

Both are equally pretty, but I’m more bitter

You got the power of a goddess in the palm of your hand

You won't leave me alone, what’s done has already been sewn into silk

She sings to me in her final tune

Forever stuck under my labyrinthine

Minthe

And as she slowly becomes a memory as a heart-shaped knife in your mind

Really it’s me who died

No longer under your spell as your slave

I’ll put yellow hyacinths on your grave
