Why wouldn't I be?

He asks as I marvel over his patience, his kindness, his version of the bare minimum,

and slowly, I'm learning he's right,

but when I say how nice he is,

and when he asks me that question again and again,

the answer is that no one ever has been,

the bar was in hell, and he has been leaping over it by miles,

so I answer the only way I know how:

I don't know. Ask everyone I dated before you.

Love this! "the bar was in hell, and he has been leaping over it by miles," is my favourite line.
