Why...

Why does it take an endless begging of warmth to feel warm,

if only a single frigid word can freeze even a sizzling part?

Why does winning require swollen blood and everlasting scars,

if losing only asks for a fallen limb or a single fragment of a broken heart?

Why does life need a breath every second to remain

if death only kindly asks for a minute or two of a stilled beat?

Why does comfort need an explicitly exact measurement to be felt

while pain hurts whether sliced or complete?

Why do good times fly past like the wind

if nights last even after their aglow?

Why does a sight take a second to see

if the effect of it will never go?

Why does a question take a minute to ask

if an answer takes years to -perhaps- find?

Why does a mistake take too quick to make

if it is impossible to ever rewind?

Excellent piece and ďeep , mistakes are part of human nature , and I think we should just learn to forgive ourselves for our wrongdoing because it can't be erased

  • Sadly, some answers stay within us while others sleep eternally with those who we once loved or knew. Fine piece.
