Why the Rose Changed Color?
Heat stress and fungus played role

So much mystery in nature
for those who pause
to gaze and admire.
I've seen roses
all my life —
but had not noticed
that petals can
change color!
Yellow when fresh,
then losing pigment
white while withered,
and some — pink too?
How is that possible?
We could say
it's adaptation
to heat stress.
Or we could say,
fungi growth
on the petals
are turning them pink.
Nature's classroom
teaches lessons
to those
ready to learn.

Very eye-opening poem! Nature is indeed a mystery.
I had no idea that fungi growth could cause colour changes. Loved your poem!
Great poem and nature does cover a lot of subjects from art, music, stories to science and math and even cooking. Good job.
