I wrote a story
Nobody read
My soul shriveled
Slightly more dead
I lifted my pen
To try again
Hoping my need for
Validation be not sin
I thought my little tale
Quite fun indeed
Yet again, not a single read
I sighed and set
My pen aside
Wondering why nobody
Came along for the ride
So I went to home page
Looked thru stories others made
Some were quite good
Others not so great
Yet each a piece
Of the writer’s soul
Cast into the void
Out into the cold
Each hoping to garner views
Reactions of various hues
Praying for comments, likes, shares
Hoping someone tastes their wares
So I stepped out
From my insular page
Tried to see what secret made
Some author’s all the rage
While others stood on stage
Performing a one man show
To which no audience go
When I began interacting
With other’s works
Discovering each author’s
Personal quirks
I found I had much to learn…
Mayhap even somewhat to teach…
So while for likes my heart doth yearn
I found new goals for which to reach
My mission still to share my stories
But also to give other’s
Their personal glories
So I click on likes
Try to add a comment .. generally nice …
Give a little bit
Of constructive criticism
As well as the occasional
Humorous witticism
Now at least I garner some reads
A few that actually follow my leads
Remember that while your journey
May seem hopeless, solitary
You are not alone in
Writer’s purgatory
So join in and interact
If subscribers
You wish to attract

Interaction with others is key for sure. We've all felt this (and still do) at times. Great poem, by the way!
Oh no, I'm so sorry my friend. I'm sure many could relate to this. I remember how I was the only one to read your Quinn/Jason series
Yesterday, I was sad because no one read my stories. I thought about it and considered quitting writing, but giving up is not the solution.
