Why I Write Poetry

I share from my heart.

By Darla M SeelyPublished 3 months ago Updated 3 months ago 1 min read

I hunt for the right words to write.

I write about a lovely sight.

A lot of things run through my mind

Like why we should be patient, kind.

I write about grief, what it means.

The life I had while in my teens.

My emotions, - they are many

Like each heartache, heartfelt plea.

I write to share with others

How I feel bout my brothers.

I have to write about sisters

And the time I had bad blisters.

It is my way of sharing hope

And all of the ways we can cope.

I write about kids, things they say

And beauties I see every day.

Poetry is freedom to express

All of the things I love best;

My thoughts about the ways we love;

My gratitude to God above.

I write poetry 'cause I can.

I am my own #1 fan.

I will share my testimony

About forgiving, why I'm me.

I hunt for ways to share my joys;

Write about special girls and boys.

I write about some friends I know

And memories from long ago.
