Why I Stopped Reading
And Avoid Libraries

I read her like a book
She wore her thoughts on her sleeve
From the way that she looked
She had opinions of me
Gave a nod and a wink
I was done before starting
Had me hook line and sinker
Her intent, disregarding
Put my heart through the ringer
And my name through the mud
Wrapped me around every finger
A prisoner, she’s the judge
And without any doubt
Sentenced me as a victim
Turned my world inside out
Caught up in my own prison
One thing that I learned
You just can’t believe what you read
I’ve since learned how to discern
And now, I only watch the tv

Hi Ki - A favor? I know you read Rachel 'like a book.' Please post a comment on her "Ode to Rachel Deeming" - I know that you respect her accomplishment; can't imagine how either one of U'z pumps them out so much. I so know she would appreciate the gesture from you. Thank you - Ki and I will OU-1 - Jk -
Oh this is so fun!
Hahahahaha this was a good one! Loved it!
I assume that you have mined a deep vein of satire for this one, Kelli. Pardon me please if I have misconstrued thy words. I loved the seeming effortlessness of the poetry. And even though you telegraphed your final line, it still surprised me so greatly that I laughed out loud!
This is very well written, and boy, have I met women like this!!
Nothing like reading whatever you can. Great description an image.
Oh, that last line got an big LOL from me. Well writ, Kelli!
