Why do you travel really,
Is it because you want to see the self-proclaimed world that we see,
Documented on our devices,
From other people living the life, we think we want to live,
Is it because you want to be immersed in another's culture,
While you stand shoulder to shoulder,
with hundreds of others that have convinced themselves this is their dream,
Do you want to see an aged rock, only a handful of the world has seen,
Will you feel so small while you are next to the oldest of cities,
Or do you want to be there for the Instagram photo,
presenting yourself as well-traveled and pretty,
Do the salty waters make your skin feel a little more kissed,
Or is it the homemade pasta from another country you never knew you missed,
Is it the beautiful pictures that show on your idle tv
Or the desire to swim in something as blue as the Mediterranean Sea,
Do you travel, because nothing seems to feel like a home,
Or do you see the world as an outline, waiting to be known,
Do you hike the rockiest miles, to to see the reddest of rocks,
Or do you fear if you don't, you are living stuck in a box,
Do you desire to see more than your hometown,
Or is your personality, someone who is always down,
So why do you travel really,
I have no judgement you see,
But no matter your reasons,
getting out theres is full of lessons and seasons,
that are waiting there for you to meet,
pushing yourself to be uncomfortable,
callacing more then just feet,
It will expand what you know to be true,
It will expand a new version of you.
