Why Cinco de Mayo?

Puebla

By Xiomara MarinPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

They had always stood strong

Even when the French invaded and did wrong,

My people stood their ground

Shedding tears hoping it will end,

Sweat and blood fighting for their lives,

May 5th 1862

Victory was made,

Little do people know

What Cinco de Mayo is really about,

We say pendejos

But let's stop failing in educating the

Uneducated,

It was never a war in Mexico

But a battle my indigenous people had no choice to fight in

For their fucking rights,

A year later then again

The second battle wasn't the same,

They didn't understand to leave my people alone,

What a damn shame

invading our land they did again,

because they felt they had the right,

But we will never forget 1862

And how strong my people pulled through,

So when people bring up Mexicanos

Coming to this country and doing wrong,

unrighteousness runs through their blood

because they now chose to forget what their people did first,

I will never forget

and I will never forget where I come from.
