Why Can't You Be Happy With Me?

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

[Verse]

I bought you pizza you wanted fries

I gave you sunshine you crave the skies

Always chasing something new

What’s wrong with plain old me and you

[Prechorus]

I’m not a riddle I’m not a maze

But you twist and turn in a million ways

[Chorus]

Why can't you be happy with me

What do you need that I can’t see

I’m not a game not a fantasy

Why can't you be happy with me

[Verse 2]

I cracked a joke you barely laughed

I held your hand you pulled it back

You’ve got a map but you won’t arrive

Stuck in a dream where you can’t survive

[Prechorus]

I’m not a puzzle missing a piece

But you keep searching like there’s no release

[Chorus]

Why can't you be happy with me

What do you need that I can’t see

I’m not a game not a fantasy

Why can't you be happy with me

I should have said that to my ex 48 years ago. who knows, maybe he wouldn't have become my ex, but then, the skies are bluer, the waters calmer, the life more peaceful.
