Out of the blue, you said we were through

I don’t know what it is I did or didn’t do

Baby, I have worked so hard to be a success

Now that it’s working out, why are you leaving like this?

We’ve both worked hard for such a very long time

Now it’s time to sit back and enjoy the ride

But you claim our love is not in your best interest

Baby, please tell me why are you leaving like this?

At times it seems no matter how hard we looked

At the end of the tunnel, there was no light

I’ll be first to say, it hasn’t always been easy for us

But you know in your heart, I truly tried

I would have understood when the times were rough

If you want to leave and say goodbye

But now you say there is no use to even try

We’re over for good and there’s no changing your mind

Baby, you know, everything I’ve ever done, I’ve always done for you

Every dream I dared to dream, I thought you shared them too

Forever meant being with you, and that’s how I wanted to live

Baby, please tell me why are leaving like this?
