Why are you gone?

In sorrow's dark and endless, hollow night

I search for answers, yet find none to tell

Why you, my love, my shining star, took flight

And left me here, in this dark world to dwell

Your absence pierces my heart like a knife

A constant ache, a wound that will not heal

I'm left to wonder, lost in endless life

Why you departed, and left me to conceal

My tears, my sighs, my cries, all fall in vain

As I lament, and mourn your loss in pain

Yet still, I hold on to the love we gained

And cherish every moment we shared in vain

But still, I ask, why are you gone from me?

And why must I suffer this agony?
