Who's Stalking Who?

A villanelle poem for the "Villanelle of Regret" Challenge

By Chloe Rose Violet 🌹Published 4 months ago • 1 min read

***Author's note: I was inspired by this song and the TV show You while writing this poem.***

Oh hello you,

I have found you once again.

I'm trying to figure out why your face is ever so blue?

-

Pay me no mind, just watching you in the drive-through.

I still wonder about what happened back then,

Are we sure of who is stalking who?

-

It was funny whenever I happened to run into you,

The gossip around here says you’ve vanished, but when?

I really happen to like your new tattoo.

-

I moved provinces and cities; I even flew.

But yet, I have managed to find you once again.

Oh hello you.

-

You and me, will be stuck together like glue.

And no I don't want to be just your friend,

I'm now sure of who's stalking who.

-

All of a sudden, I had this breakthrough,

I might have to get ahold of one of these law-men,

Because the best stalker award goes to......

Oh hello you.
