White-Tailed

A Collection

White-tail up in alert, flag ready.

*

Four-hooved feet swiftly fleeing to safety.

**

Massive antlers crowning his glorious head

***

Soft brown eyes watching everything warily.

****

Camouflage with his soft tan hide.

*****

Hiding amongst the forest trees, spying.

** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** **

On a cold winter’s day

The deer come out to play

Running

And jumping

They pounce around

Grazing on whatever

Grass or nut that

Can be found

** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** **

Deep fried venison

Served with gravy on a plate

Mmmm, country goodness

*

Venison chili

Made spicy with Pinto Beans

Keep you up all night

Deer

Deer

Everywhere

In the ditch

On the road

On my hood

Busted windshield

Dented fender

Caved-in hood

Totaled out car

Deer deer

Everywhere

Running off

Back the way

They came

To the woods

While I sit here

And cuss their

Existence

For destroying

My car.

That took rather a turn! I loved the sense of movement in the first half! And the contrast 🤍

I feel that last part 😬 one of my biggest fears. I enjoyed this a lot.

I love this! Now I want venison. It has been so long since I've had it.
