Take the space from the stars,
and whisk quickly into the night sky.
Kiss vows farewell,
as you hold tightly to butterfly wings.
You sing through every galaxy,
while ignoring every aggravating fallacy.
We hoped. I rushed.
You slipped. I dipped away.
You shattered my heart into a thousand stars,
but it’s not horrific because now the night is brilliant above.

Oof, this one flutters and stings all at once! Do you think stars remember the hearts they came from?
