Where will you go?

A love poem

By E'LISEPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

If you run from here,

where will you go, my love?

You’re only running from

your own fears, you know.

My dear, Love is already here.

In this room.

Right now, with you.

And yet, you keep pushing it away somehow.

Saying it just hasn’t come your way,

some doubt.

Because you’re just waiting for the right day.

The right person to never say

‘The one thing’

that allows you to proclaim:

“Yep, definitely not the one to bring”

But have you even given

yourself full permission to sing?

Your new love song

into existence

with another being?

How will she know you love her,

if you don’t crow?

How will you ever know it’s true

if you don’t go all the way through?

How will she ever see you, if you don’t show?

Lover, continually waiting for

the “next best other”

only ensures that you never truly

step into the ring,

and that she’ll never actually be able

to hear you sing.
