Where the birds sing

Are you a citizen?

You’ve been staring at the sky

What if you could fly

Would you then be free to come and go?

They say you are not entitled

Coming and going is not free

Not for you.

Home is shattered

You don’t know where the pieces are

Why can’t you be like the birds?

The clouds pass and you forget who you are

Are you nature?

Your are a son of the earth.

One day your smile will slide all the way out

The breath of air will fill all the inside

Untightening the knot that was put in your throat.

All the arms of earth will embrace you

You will remember

Where you came from. Why you became.

Your feet will feel the ground

The birds will sing to remind you

You are one with the land.

Now go reassured, son

You are loved

And every land is your land.
