Where is my mind

By Melissa IngoldsbyPublished about a year ago 1 min read
Kedamono (Popee) not my art

why does this thing that bounced back from me to you, a reverberating, echolocation of a single thread

Twanging from beat to beat as a single swing from a sword, a very powerful drum that deepens the whole world in a mournful beat of breathing pounding

My mask slips

My mind is gone

The world is falling into pitch black

I beg to the highest heavens to give my light, it’s ran out of my ears into the dead-raven sky, mocking my soul with its pretend love

Please don’t let me go down

Sleep into the most painful abyss

What’s this thing between

Us

Is it a wall?

It’s immense. I feel it would collapse the universe. Will my brain burst

From the moment I let out my real voice?

Will the ravenous soul tear out of my body like a broken glass dream?

Why do I feel the same sort of energy between us when my mask starts to slip

We melt into one, we shine into the golden light of winter, breathing into my wicked heart like a star that’s lost its way

I found you,

You whisper as our conversation leads to our eyes crying out as children that used to believe with all their might that they lost their ability to communicate without twisted words and round about answers

Answers that spout from past trauma and half truths

Truths oily like a lie that needs to be turned over from the spill

I found you, you say to me

And the rest of the world begins to feel like a mess that is starting to clean up

Like the sun and the moon and

You

All found me

Really found me

I found me, too
