Where Have You Gone

Echoes from the Edge of Memory

By Shazzed Hossain ShajalPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

The one who lived within my sight,

the one who bloomed in my heart’s light —

where have you gone,

to what distant, unknown dawn?

That familiar face,

how long it’s been unseen,

those eyes I once dreamed within —

no longer meet mine.

You gave me joy,

but left me pain —

more than my heart could ever contain.

Now memories ache and softly cry,

where have you gone,

to what far sky?

That familiar face,

how long it’s been unseen,

those eyes I once dreamed within —

now only live in my memory.

Perhaps I erred,

perhaps we both did —

you never said what your heart hid.

Now silence answers when I sigh,

where have you gone,

to what distant, unknown sky?

That familiar face,

how long it’s been unseen,

those eyes I once dreamed within —

I still seek them,

in every dream.
