Lost Like Yesterday

A Whisper to the One Who Left Too Soon

By Shazzed Hossain ShajalPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

You vanished like the days long gone,

Like fleeting joy, you slipped away.

I don’t know what you took with you,

Nor what you left for me to stay.

You vanished like the days long gone,

You vanished — far, so far away.

You once brought light into my heart,

Took my soul and played your part.

Now everything you gave, you’ve gone,

Leaving memories — that linger on.

With what remains, I still survive,

In echoes of a love once alive.

You vanished like the days long gone,

You vanished — far, so far away.

Still I wake through endless nights,

Eyes open wide to fading lights.

I weave my dreams — a fragile thread,

But truth returns — it’s all misled.

Tell me, love, how can I be,

When all that’s gone is you — not me?

You vanished like the days long gone,

Like fleeting joy, you slipped away.

I don’t know what you took with you,

Nor what you left for me to say.

You vanished like the days long gone,

You vanished — far, so far away.
