Where Dark Meets Light

A Poem

By Amethyst ChampagnePublished 4 months ago Updated about a month ago 1 min read

Light is on one side,

Dark is on the other side.

***

One half feels cold and tingly,

Like a shadow watching me in deep winter.

***

The other side feels airy and warm,

Like summertime childhood.

***

In the middle of the room,

My body divided between the two.

***

Laughter fills one ear,

Screams pierce the other.

***

Both are my voice,

As I fall to my knees.

***

What will I do?

How can I escape?

The contrast of light and dark, warmth and cold, really pulled me into that feeling of being torn in two. Haunting and powerful.
