When Your Eyes Hold the Sky

A poem about finding entire worlds in the gaze of the one you love.

I saw the dawn in your gentle stare,

A quiet light that could heal despair.

The clouds stood still as if unaware,

That love had bloomed in the morning air.

Your voice, a song on a silver thread,

It wove through dreams where my heart was led.

Each word you spoke in my soul was spread,

Like roses climbing where hope had bled.

The nights grew warm with your steady hand,

A lighthouse beam where I used to stand.

It showed the shore, it revealed the sand,

And whispered truths I could understand.

If storms may come and the stars may hide,

I’ll walk the waves with you as my guide.

For every tide that the moon supplied,

Will bow to love standing side by side.

And if one day the whole world turns cold,

Your eyes will shine like a tale retold.

For in that gaze, I will still behold,

My sky, my dawn, and my heart of gold.
