When you see my skin

How do you judge my color

By Khalil Huff Published 4 years ago 1 min read

When you see my skin do I make you afraid,

Are you scared of what you may learn about me,

Is that why you call me a threat,

Am I a threat to your way of life,

Or is all that just a lame lie,

How can you hate someone you don’t even know,

What is wrong with you that you must shoot my people down,

My blood is the same color as yours and we historically come from the same land,

The only reason you’re lighter than me is because ancestors migrated to higher lands,

This was before when there was only one real race,

But the way you treat me and people of your own race is nothing more than a sadden

Disgrace,

It’s so sad because the children of tomorrow must bear witness to the atrocities

Displayed on the news,

But what else can you expect when there is no type of leadership in this said to be great country,

There’s people that say go back to your country when you speak out against them,

But how can anyone say that when this country was stolen from the rightful barriers,

So before you speak out of tone to me or anyone else,

Take a long hard look at your Goddamn self
