When Words Don't Flow
It's fine to have lean writing phases

Sometimes
Creativity flows like a waterfall.
Within one hour, I can publish six poems.
Other times, I struggle to finish even one.
Let’s normalize this.
We are emotional creatures,
at the mercy of hormones
and neurotransmitters.
Not just seasons and the food we eat,
but our family situations
and our body’s cycles
all shape our biochemical profiles.
We must be kind to ourselves.
We are not robots
the forced labor
We are feeling souls.
Meticulous words
can’t be squeezed out forcefully.
It’s fine to have dry phases.
We don’t have to go through agony
just to impress others.
Self-care is a soothing
lullaby, we got to listen.

Great work
I'm at the mercy of Mr Brain and I'm lucky if I publish even 1 piece a month. But I'm never hard on myself. We should never be. Loved your poem!
All too true!
How true you speak of how we work and live whatever we are doing.
I love your poetry! Great flowing of words! 🖤💛❤️💙♥️🧡💚🧡💝
