When We're Little

I wish I still was

When we're little,

We have this concept of love.

It's all happiness

and once you found that one,

You're set forever

Man, I wish I was still little . . .

When we're little,

Love is roses

and cute dates

And just. . . love. . .

Man, I wish I was still little. . .

Maybe if I was little,

My heart would still be intact

Maybe if I was little,

I would be happy and love myself

Maybe if I was little,

There wouldn't be the loud thump of my heart breaking

Maybe if I was little,

I wouldn't have to find a therapist

Maybe if I was little,

I wouldn't have anxiety or depression

Maybe if you were little too,

I wouldn't have the slice of the knife you stabbed into my back

Maybe if I was little,

I wouldn't have said the things I said to you

Or did the things I did to you

Because I wouldn't know you-

No-

I wouldn't know that line

Between love and hate and

I would never experience your love

I would never be shown a sliver of happiness in my dark time

I wouldn't know that. . .

I don't regret you

Man, I wish I was still little...

Because then, I wouldn't be writing this about you

and how you broke my heart

and how I broke yours

I wouldn't be writing this...

And wishing I was still little....

heartbreak
