When Things Get Too Heavy

We reach our breaking point

It was all too heavy

The weight of it all

Was just

Too

Heavy

She wanted to let go

But it was pulling her down

Dragging her

Through its darkest depths

She tried to break free

It was pointless

Like quicksand

It started to swallow her

She struggled to get out

It made her sink even deeper

She needed to let go

But how?

She already tried struggling

Then she remembered

Quicksand loosens up

When we stop struggling

She learned to relax

It let her go

She felt lighter

She was floating

In the vast ocean

She went with the flow

Of the current and the waves

It was so much easier

So much lighter

She felt the bliss

She wanted to float forever

For it was a beautiful feeling

A poem that feels like blues. Now I feel good and I was truly excited, I almost felt jealous.:)) But well done, because I will never forget this beautiful poem. A ripple in my heart and a sense of optimism.

There's something about this shade of blue and her just floating there. Sometimes trying really becomes pointless. Struggling against a natural thing is the thing that causes us to sink deeper. Just like you've said. I like how she learned in the end what yields the best result. To relax and just let go. Fantastic work as always Dharr πŸ€—β€οΈ

Your words beautifully capture the struggle and journey of letting go, your imagery of quicksand and the transformative effect of relaxation is inspiring, amazing job, thanks for sharing!

Letting go, even for a little while, is worth it. If it's something that you need to pick up again, you can when you have an emotional rest.

oh wow Dharrsheena, this was so beautiful and honest. You speak for anyone who has struggled and finally accepted it. If you see your number of reads going up on this it is me re reading it over and over.

This one also holds up so well to what I remember it to be!! It's uplifting, breath taking and such a great refresher about the perils of dwelling on the struggles of life and what happens when you fight too hard or forget what's actually worth fighting for! Great work Dharrsheena! 🩡

This is a valuable message. A way to strive...or not strive, but rest.

Dharrsheena, this was such a relatable piece for me! I loved the wording and flow of it, it was emotionally evoking and yet uplifting! Great work my friend! πŸ’œ

  • This is beautiful, Dharrsheena! I imagined it was addressing worry. Life's worries can drag us down, and the more we worry about a problem, the heavier the burden. As the saying goes, β€œWorrying does not take away tomorrow's troubles. It takes away today's peace.” This was a beautiful poem, with layered meanings!

  • Hello, How are you? Hope you are doing well. Can I know where you from..??

    nice :)

  • Unforgiveness surely feels like this. The quicksand. The struggle. Then you release and accept where you are and how you feel. It is forgiveness at its best. Love this poem. May I read it for my YouTube Channel and link back here?
