When the Rain Forgot to Speak
A Season Drenched in Absence and Unshed Words

This ghazal captures the ache of withheld longing—when the world continues, seasons pass, but nothing speaks the beloved’s name. The poet reflects on quiet grief, how unspoken words become poetry, and how absence echoes louder than presence. It’s a tribute to feelings too deep for sound, yet impossible to silence.
Autumn came with rain, yet spoke no word of you,
Leaves fell in silence—no trace, no view.
I waited with my eyes, but your gaze never came,
Even the sun passed by, never speaking your name.
When I remember you, I grow distant from me,
My heart burned quietly, though even the shadows let it be.
There’s an ancient ache inside me, too old to explain,
I held my voice closed—my silence held the pain.
You left, but the poems are still woven with your trace,
These verses scream your name, though I’ve said it with grace.
