When the Heart Fights itself

I fought desire in the field formed of horizons.

Where there is no past to base from.

Where only strength can win a war,

And past battles have gone numb.

-

When I fight a battle within my core,

Reinforcements must be born inside.

And brother must fight brother

To keep morals and standards in their pride.

-

How can desire control me

if the wanting is from my heart alone?

How can my mind be overtaken

by a desire that I myself have grown?

-

My heart must turn against itself,

Shed skin and blood to keep its dignity

And when it beats its last tunes

its legacy will live for eternity.
