When Silence Replaces Argument

The Unspoken Sign of Losing Your Place

By Rahat nazPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

If someone stops arguing with you,
and merely nods at every word you say,
know this
you have extinguished the lamp of your own worth,
the light that once shone brightly within you.
For disagreement is not enmity,
argument is not hostility
it is a sign of love,
a gesture of belonging.
Only those who care for you
dare to challenge your steps,
to guide you away from the edge,
to save you from a fall.
But when no one finds you worthy of debate,
understand that the time has shifted.
Now, even your mistakes
meet only with silence,
and instead of tending to your wounds,
hearts around you wear
the shroud of indifference.
Remember this
a silent nod is, in truth, a refusal;
it is a declaration
that you have fallen from the hearts of your own,
that no one remains
to correct, to guide, or to heal you.
