When Love Hurts: Is It Truly Love?
Reclaiming Your Worth from the Cycle of Pain
Sometimes, because we love someone deeply, we allow the harm they cause to happen. We might even believe that's just part of love. But love should never be exchanged for humility. We shouldn't have to suffer trauma repeatedly or doubt our own worth. If that's truly love, why does it demand so much patience from us?
Many times, we're simply used to it—used to having someone around, used to putting ourselves in a difficult position to maintain a relationship. Afraid of change, afraid of being alone, we'd rather get hurt over and over again than dare to leave.
But dear, don't allow him to hurt you repeatedly, just because you love him. Don't lose yourself in endless disappointment. Don't forget that you also deserve to be treated gently.
Let it go. That kind of relationship isn't love.
Let it go. You won't lose anything; you will only be free. And you'll begin to discover that you are better off without him.

awesome; I learned the hard way that often being lonely and have someone show you attention, you mistake it for love, then when that attention wanes, we're hurt. It was a bitter pill to realize that while I enjoy company, I don't necessarily need it.
