In Hopes of Romance, We Found Comedy
In the dim-lit café, my heart raced with hope,
A blind date set, a chance to elope,
With visions of laughter and sparks in the air,
I arrived with my best, yet found a nightmare.
He walked through the door, all swagger and flair,
But the moment he spoke, I could hardly bear.
With tales of his exes, he droned on and on,
As my patience faded, my enthusiasm gone.
His choice of a meal, a garlic-stuffed feast,
With every bold bite, my appetite ceased.
The way he gestured, so wild and unkempt,
I wondered if he’d ever had common sense.
He spilled his drink with a careless swish,
And asked if I’d join him for a sushi dish.
But the way he pronounced it, a cringeworthy sound,
Had me wishing for silence, to turn this around.
His phone buzzed constantly, a bright, glaring light,
Each time he would check it, I cringed at the sight.
With every distraction, my hopes slowly sank,
As he laughed at his own jokes, a solo prank.
As the clock ticked on, I yearned for escape,
Yet polite I remained, wrapped tight in this tape.
With a final farewell, I dashed to the door,
A blind date adventure, but never once bore.
So here’s to the nights when romance goes wrong,
To the lessons we learn, and the laughter that's strong.
For in the awkward moments and clumsy ballet,
We find the best stories in love’s grand display.
