When joy was out for the taking

A little feather once brought joy

To hearts that sagged with pain.

And their fragments were but a little toy

That kept us smooth and sane.

-

When life was just light and small

A crumb of glow satisfied it much.

But as the path grew wide and tall,

Lightning dared never to try and touch.

-

How does sunshine brighten nights?

How can smiles strengthen gloom?

How do cannons bloody fights?

How does hope conquer doom?

-

My heart has grown to full to store

Every vestige pain can give.

Never ceasing to ask for more,

More life with which to live.

Ohh! Such a beautiful piece! Love how it takes us from little joys to deep thoughts about life and hope. It’s like a reminder that even the smallest things can keep us going, even when things get tough. So uplifting!😊✨
