When I Pray for You

Not for your return, but for the strength to let you go.

By Sudais ZakwanPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

Every night I still pray — not for you to return, but for peace.

Peace for your soul, peace for my heart.

I tell God that I understand now.

Love is not meant to be owned, only felt.

Your memories visit me like gentle ghosts.

Sometimes I smile, sometimes I break.

I light a candle when the world feels dark.

Its flame reminds me of you — bright, quiet, alive.

And when it flickers, I whisper, “I’m okay.”

Even if I’m not.
