When I Chose Silence Over Words

Because not every storm needs thunder to be understood.

By Moto KhanPublished 6 months ago 1 min read

✍️ Poem (Final Draft)

I had so much to say,
But silence held my hand that day.
In a world that never stops speaking,
I found power in not seeking.

No need to shout, no need to prove,
Sometimes silence makes the loudest move.
It wasn’t weakness, nor fear or doubt,
But a calm whisper the heart spoke out.

They asked me why I never replied,
Why I just smiled while truth quietly cried.
But I learned —
Not every question deserves an answer,
Not every fire needs a dancer.

A smile can mend where words divide,
A gentle grin where rage would hide.
And in my stillness, peace was born,
From battles where my soul was torn.

I chose grace over noise,
A smile over voice —
Because wisdom doesn’t always scream,
It glows in silence like a dream.

So next time the chaos pulls you in,
Don’t always fight — sometimes let silence win.
