When I can so clearly see myself

A haunting mirror poem for those with hidden scars

Through the silver's glass

In that haunted frame

So far below

I seek my virtues in the places they can be found

Yet the mirages they cast do not define me

Left festering in these hollow depths

I fear the sins and wounds I bear

Underneath my gilded porcelain shell

Who is the mirror to tell me who I am

When I can so clearly see myself

Nicely done, Ian. It definitely works both ways. Did you enter the Inverse competition a ways back?

  • Love the fact that I can read this in reverse. Wonderfully written.
