When I Asked For A Shooting Star

A Shot At the Limelight

Sherrie Roberts, the Dreamer

When I Asked for a Shooting Star

A light to dwell above the sunset

Passing us by each day

Lighting its glow beneath us

Stretching its wings array

Once you were sitting boldly

Crossing from post to post

Now the rays are beaming

Shouting from shore to shore

Repeating what was lost

Sharing the empty cost

Going beyond what is lost

Memories covered in frost

Come back Star, come back

Shooting away the daylight

And fervent memory

Does it all remain a locked mystery

That you shoot so far beyond me?
