When enough is enough

Take care, darling

When enough is enough
Photo by Caroline Hernandez on Unsplash

I've had enough of broken glasses and me bleeding

Because of your mistakes

I've had enough of you controlling my life

Gaslighting afterwards

Denying

As if nothing has happened

As if you took nothing away from me.

beware the shattered glass

My inner child said

It wounds mīn soul

Beware the monster you came

Said teenager me

It wrecks my course

Beware of them

Said my inner babe

They make me lost

And I'm here,

Crying,

Of all the damage

That's been caused.

This poem felt like it came straight from my heart. I know exactly how this feels, I've been in such situation/relationship. I'm sorry that this happened to you! No one deserves it. I hope writing about it helps you to heal, for me it helped a lot. Sending you hugs!

Such a heartbreaking and beautifully honest piece. The imagery is powerful, and the emotional honesty even more so. Beautifully written.
