What You Think of Me

What you think of me

What You Think of Me

You may think I might be fragile

Like a flower next to a candle

You may think I caught on fire

‘Cause I’m running around

Trying to catch

My most memorable desire

While you try to cleanse me

‘Cause you think I may be dirty

I’m trying to take this burden

I’ve been holding on to it for some reason

And pray upon my lucky star

That I don’t end up hurting

You may tell me I’m stupid

You may tell me I’m lewd

But for God’s sake! You have nothing to fear

Because of the things I’ve put you through

Is one of the reasons

I’m going to stay here

Because I want to help you

And I want to get help too

But for all the tears you’ve made me shed

It makes me wonder

If you cared

About what I’ve said

Why must you belittle me?

Don’t be afraid of what you see

Let me tell you a little tale

Of a girl who has wanted

To get away from you

But every time she’d Fail

She still stays here

Even though she knows it's unfair

That she has to put up

With all your mix-ups

sad poetry
