What The Light Doesn't Know
Night-Time Follies
The light doesn't know
what I do in the dark
It's brightness can't show
where shadows touch my heart
*
The warm tender glow
that it grants for our sight
Or how far I would go
sometimes to stay out of its light
*
The light has no clue
what the darkness allows
That without any cue
starlight pleases and wow's
*
The magic of moonlight
and sounds of the night
No one watches or judges
what I feel is alright
*
All the nocturnal things
that come out to play
And the songs that we sing
can't be done in the day
*
But at dusk, as the sunlight
no longer in charge
Goes to bed, says goodnight
disappears to re-charge
*
Thats when the night time
follies begin.

I have to admit, I'm with you. I love the night. Whether for sleeping or wooing or just going for a walk in the cool of the evening. Beginning just before dusk as the shadow grow long & what remains of the light leaves everything it touches burnished, slowly drawing back the curtain that blocks our view of all that lies beyond our little sphere, to see the stars & moon & the Northern Lights, as the world grows quiet with sleep & the spirits come out to play. Daylight is good. But I'm with you. I love the night.
Mmm yes the follies!
