The Final Destination

Midnight masquerades, secretly held in the crypt

follies in the air, as ghosts take flight

Good and evil, each taking their final sip

claiming their place, as creatures of the night

*

Soaring through the clouds, they've come to celebrate

for man-made toils here, finally are through

Eternal urges lead them safely through the gate

between what was and is, and what they knew

*

The moon welcomes them home

with a lover's silvery smile

Droplets fall upon shores of foam

bringing joy of the exiled

*

Night sounds fill the air

proclaiming victory o'er life

The eternal passage clear

cutting the veil with a knife

*

Soaring into forever

journeys we knew one day would come

The fates far more than clever

and less generous than some

*

Altitudes of mercy

heights of solace and release

Life and death - controversies

flights of sorrow, rest and peace

*

A new world replaces the old one

feathers drift away on the breeze

Desires, and fears cannot out-run

the angels equipped with new wings

*

Clouds become the footstools of the airborne

the ground barely seen through the mist

With halos and wings now to adorn

the soft gentle breeze, lips to kiss

*

Destinations and farewells unnecessary

gravity and time, hold no weight

Dreams require some imaginary ideas

depending on what you create

*

Flying over trees and through valleys

wind like the waves crashing down on the sea

Together like branches of a family

spirits flying, happy and free

*

To find a collected exploration

feet dangling off of the stars

Moon gazing in close approximation

tripping over Jupiter and Mars

*

Eternal, extended migration

to places we only once dreamed

No need to hesitate expectations

weightlessness is as good as it seemed

*

Ray lit sparkles of light mark the pathways

Only will - and your mind does the rest

Setting sail on the galaxy's highways

setting course for your life after rest

*

Constellations like droplets of water

telling tales of the sights they have seen

You've become the greatest map plotter

as you keep track of where you have been

*

Trapsing along the bend of the dipper

loop de loops through the eye in the sky

Touch the scales on Pisces big flipper

counting all of the stars flying by

*

The birds seem confused by their presence

Float around without a feather or tail

They are formless, only an essence

pushed around by a powerful gale

*

Taking the flight, they refer to as redeye

dusk to daylight on wings they will soar

Becoming one with the marvelous night sky

like rowing a boat without oars

*

Surrendered to more than a body

flesh and bone no longer the key

Beings recognized, antibody's

particles pacing, finally at peace

*

Lungs no longer needing a deep breath

eyes seeing more than before

Freedom came wearing the name, death

no longer waging a war

*

The air liberates and enables

limits have fallen away

The struggle began at the cradle

ended that day, at the grave

*

The final flight, becomes the maiden

each of us, a trip we will make

Is ours, when it's our turn to trade in

on that day when we finally, awake

*

When it comes, every freedom comes pouring

flight, the great gift of the gods

The skies seemingly are lowering

evening and settling the odds

*

This flight, the greatest in history

a life-long endeavor in time

The song in your soul, and it's mysteries

released to complete every rhyme

*

So, don't fear the flight that is coming

look forward and get ready to fly

that song in your head that keeps humming

the melodies no-one can deny

*

fact or fiction

Gorgeous, this message here is so profound!

  • Death & all the monsters we feared in our childhood & youth mingling & merging to become friend as we approach that final destination, with a new journey just waiting to begin.
