What lives in the silence?
-For the children and innocent people in Gaza
what lives in the silence of a Dead Sea of Thieves swallowing up a small mercy—-a sword inside of a raw stone, nothing to squeeze out of,
I drown mysteries, starvation of souls and body and mind, I cannot escape the drowning when in a cloud of mystical song
Angels with flaming swords and blackened stars turn into the sun, whipping the moon to reveal the gravity of the universe
Will there be any more swallowed up in the void of careless cruelty? Will the void of our own self-love destroy a whole soul?
Who lives in the silence? I will not stay silent
Eleven weeks. Every single day, hour, minute, second, the children are crying and dying and lonely and starving
Eleven weeks, the people fighting for the right to see another day
It makes me weep for my Jewish blood, what have we become? This is not the blood I know
What can a jar of baby food do to a missile? What can a bottle of water do to a raging bullet? What does a box of food do when a bomb hits a house or a hospital?
I cannot let my brothers be swallowed up in the silence. Even if they believe in a different God or have a different culture
They are still my brothers
A miracle is still a blessing and a blessing still a testament even if we believe in different ways
What lives in the black hole of the unrelenting giant that creates uncompromising destruction
Is it just one person pretending they don’t hear their cries?

Despite having different cultures or beliefs, we are all humans. I just wish they realise that and stop doing all these atrocities
It's hurts to read, and it hurt you to write. And really, is anyone paying attention anymore? The deliberate starvation of the people doesn't even seem to warrant more than a one minute glace half way through the news. It's disgusting, and so heartbreaking. Excellent work, my friend.
Heavy, and so important.
Amen. Shalom. Amen.
Well-wrought! Clan loyalty all-too-often tips the scales of justice out of balance.
Seeing this on vocal oddly brings me hope, hope that more people are still talking about Palestine and about the ongoing genocide. How we must keep fighting for them, must keep doing more.
This is some heavy stuff. The part about the children crying and dying for weeks really hits hard. It makes you wonder what more we can do to help. You mention different beliefs, and that's so true. We should put aside differences and come together. It's like when we work on a technical problem; we combine different skills. How can we make sure our efforts to help those in need aren't just a drop in the bucket? And who's responsible for breaking the silence around these atrocities?
