What it is to be Loved by a Man
Real men love themselves.
Take the human form…
Man to be exact.
See if a great swarm
Wish to keep that intact.
You won’t. Because to be a man is rare.
There’s gangsters, hustlers, and cards.
All you have to do is stare.
And you will find more men in shards.
The complete man seeks joy,
The child wants to play.
The overgrown child remains a boy.
While the man chooses to stay.
When the man presents himself, he’s right.
The boy shows his hand.
The man does the difficult tasks to delight.
The boy shirks reprimand.
As the man holds destiny in his palm
The boy seeks only chaos in time.
The man develops peace and calm.
The boy shouts out the ill rhyme.
To take seriously the man’s plight
One must reserve regard for him.
The man is real either day or night.
Frauds of spirit glorify boys, not them.
The man is more focused on what's true.
While children play little games
Men know that they are few.
That’s why they’re better than lames.

Smartystan
Chanda sent home money every two weeks. In a small village in India, she deposited money into the bank account of her aunt and uncle who sent her to live in America. The place seemed so remote, almost cut off from the rest of the country. There, a festival took place where participants hurled cow eliminations at each other. The muddy, mucky sense of it had been known for centuries. Locals tied it to an ancient god who they believed restored people’s health with the cow plops. During the festival, thick patties passed through the air and smushed into the bodies and faces of those rollicking around in the filth.
