what is left

i asked the sun

for sunshine

but when night came

it set.

i looked at the sky

so i would find magic

in the glittering

sea of stars

but it faded

when they had to leave

me

like everything does.

the tide kissed

my ankles

until it turned

to go

along with my peace

and now i cannot find it.

i am always left

with me

and my thoughts

i do not want to hear

my feelings

i do not want to feel

and nobody is coming

to hold me.

if i lower my eyes

from the sky

and look in my heart

and ask if it can love

me

and all my broken parts

i do not know

the answer.
