What I need to say

Last words

By Sparky SteinPublished 5 years ago 2 min read

Here we are, fighting harder and harder day by day just to keep the little we’ve got

Way too far, from the fires of heaven, so we start to slip apart

In the dark, we still wage this war just to hold each other’s hearts

Time may pass us by...

But at least we tried

If this was the day, that we fell apart

I’d say I’m sorry for the scars I left, I hope he treats you better this time

If this was my last chance, to say how I felt

I’d say I’ll always love you, and cherish the times we had

Before it’s my last day...

That’s what I need to say

I will not, let our memories slip into the void we call the past

When we fought, we believed I’d be your one and only, and you would be my last

Now we’re caught, by the endless grip of time and space, I hope it ends in a better place

And if you let me go...

I just want you to know

If this was the day, that we fell apart

I’d say I’m sorry for the scars I left, I hope he treats you better this time

If this was my last chance, to say how I felt

I’d say I’ll always love you, and cherish the times we had

Before it’s my last day...

That’s what I need to say

You told me for so long, how we’d keep on fighting, and how I made you strong

But I feel you fading far away from me, now I only see you as a memory

If this was the day, I could hold you tight

I swear to keep you right here by my side, to be forever day or night

If this my was my last chance, to prove it all to you

I’d promise to keep all we’ve been through, walk you down the isle and say I do

So before it’s my last day

If this is the day, that we fall apart

I’m sorry for the scars I left, I hope he treats you better this time

If this is my last chance, to say how I feel

I’ll always love you, and cherish the times we had

So if this is my last day...

If this is my last day...

That’s what I need to say
