What I Miss

A Poem

What I Miss

I have thought and over thought every path,

every possible option,

and every way that we ended up here.

How I feel I’ve lost a part of my soul that met its other half,

and the hollowness I’ve once known

has found its home in me again.

The warmth of freedom has engulfed us and found a divide,

drifting our realities and writing us out of each other’s books.

I’m holding on to hope that we follow the breadcrumbs back to one another,

breaking the walls we built between us

and letting the warmth of our long awaited embrace consume us.
