Do you know what hurts the most?
When you know they’re talking about you,
And you know there’s nothing you can do,
So you just sit there and take it silently.
Do you know what hurts the most?
When they look right through you like a shadow.
They make you feel far below
Than you actually are.
Do you know what hurts the most?
When you crack a joke around them,
But they stare at you, then
Laugh. Not because of the joke, but at you.
Do you know what hurts the most?
When they talk about the pain they've been through,
But they don’t know the suffering you've been put
Through because of them.
Do you know what hurts the most?
When you try to talk,
But they just walk.
Walk away from you, so you don’t disturb them.
Do you know what hurts the most?
When your name isn’t mentioned around the table,
And you know you aren’t able
To change that, because they just don’t like you.
Do you know what hurts the most?
When you aren’t in the photo with the family,
And they’re laughing happily,
While you just watch them, feeling blue.
Do you know what hurts the most?
When you know you have to move on,
And the memories are too far gone
To revive, and you accept it.
