What does your heart desire?

How ironic,

I think of today's relationships,

Wanting to be together but scared of forever,

Knowing every nook and cranny of each other's body,

But unknown to a single piece of their soul,

How empty,

I think the feeling of holding someone so close,

And experience nothing but solitude,

How pretentious,

I think of every smile and laugh,

Trying to look happy for the sake of a stranger,

How hopeless,

I think of the people who have given up on the idea of love,

Who seek affection from the multiple, which you could gain from the one,

How scared,

I think are the people of today to give someone their heart,

Afraid it might be broken or ripped apart,

To them, I have a question.

What do you plan to do?

With your heart that desires to be loved and, in return, give love too,
