What do we Call

7.19.23

By Katrina ThornleyPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

What name

Do we give

To fire felt,

What do we call

What is more

Than lust,

The idea that we hold

In our hand

As we look upon thy eye

Of the one

That we did take

As ours-

We stand as we join

A fate we know,

A fate writ long ago-

We wait no more

For our path,

And go on with a wish

Come true as we

Gaze upon a face

That we can not dote on

More than we do now,

What do we call

The burn

That sets in vein

That hits our mind

And body as one-

The push to heed

The need-

We call it love,

A word that we slip

From lips

In the dark

And with the lit sun,

A word that sits

Upon skin

A word that is more

And less

All at once.

It is love

That I feel

That I felt,

It is love

That we use to join

A soul

That has torn.
